YPOB News and Announcements!

January at Nick's English Hut

With basketball season in full swing, YPOB will be heading to Nick's English Hut in January! Nick's has been a Bloomington tradition for over 80 years and has had several famous patrons over the years.

Come out and enjoy $1.50 well drinks, $3 Bloomington brews, $3.50 long islands, and other great specials. We also have $20 gift certificates to give out to two lucky YPOBers!

We will be upstairs in the Hoosier Room, but no need to worry about seating though, there is not an IU basketball game that night. See you there on Tuesday, January 31st!

Week of Chocolate

Bloomington's Week of Chocolate is happening January 30 - February 4!

Options for Better Living began fundraising with chocolate in 1997 with Chocolate Fest. Running for 11 years, Chocolate Fest treated a few thousand people to all the chocolate they could manage to eat in one evening. Since then, the event has expanded into the Week of Chocolate.

With events such as the Chocolate Olympics, Death by Chocolate Murder Mystery, the Chocolate Prom, and more benefiting several area non-profit agencies, the first week of February is delicious treat for all!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake

Calling all bowlers! Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana's Bowl for Kids' Sake is in February and we need your help in making this event a success. Bowl for Kids' Sake is BBBSSCI's largest annual fundraising campaign, with 100% of the money raised by bowlers going directly towards supporting children in South Central Indiana.

YPOB is currently looking for people interested in being team captains, bowlers, and anyone else willing to help fundraise for this event.

So what do you need to do?
  • Fundraise! Ask friends, family, and co-workers to help you raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters. Donations can be collected online or in person. The goal is for each team to raise at least $1,000.
For more information about Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana and others ways to become involved, check out: BBBSSCI.
  • Bowl! Bowling dates are on February 11, 12, and 18. You'll receive two free games of bowling (shoe and ball rental included) at Classic Bowling Lanes, a Bowl for Kids’ Sake t-shirt, chances to win fantastic prizes, and a souvenir team photo.
